My Personal Brand Audit: May 2020

Every month I share metrics on how my personal brand is doing. I share three things:

  • How my brand grew

  • What went well this month

  • What I can improve on

How my brand grew

Data is May 2, 2020 to June 1, 2020

  • 2,875 Twitter followers (78% increase from last month)

  • 271 email subscribers (99% increase from last month)

  • 42% average open rate (9% decrease from last month)

  • 19 YouTube subscribers (1800% increase from last month)

  • 2,869 unique visitors on arilewis.com (368% increase from last month)

  • 1:02 avg. session duration on arilewis.com (-46% decrease from last month)

What went well this month

I didn’t miss any content deadline. I published an article every Tuesday and Thursday morning as well as recorded a live conversation each Wednesday night. I spent a lot of time promoting my work through Twitter and HackerNews which resulted in both the increased follower count as well as visitor spike on my website. My post on HackerNews titled, “My Notes on Epic Games” brought in over 2,000 unique visitors to my site.

What can I improve on

While I did a good job of posting content, I’d like to get on a better writing schedule. I’m typically writing the post the night before which results in lower quality writing. I’d also like to make a better efforts to review my productivity daily and weekly. I’ve begun using Roam Research and while it works well, I need to be more intentional about using this. I read one and half books last month. I’d like to read 3 books this month.

Thanks for reading.
